A portrait of the artist as...

I’m David McCallum, a musician and media artist in Toronto, and currently the Editor of Musicworks Magazine. All of my work generally is in the spirit of sharing with others my excitement and curiosity about an experience.

My musical work explores immediacy in electronic performance, specifically through improvisation (see i swallow and I/O Media).

My art works explore everything from locative media and activism (the Warbike and Your Network is Mine), to voyeurism (Dear Diary, Dear World), to the bizarre (Cricket Farm), to the inane (Arse Feck and You Say Potatoe, I Say Potato).

I was schooled in physics and music composition at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and received a Master’s in Art and Technology from Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden.
