Vega is a line of light-up clothing and accessories by Angella Mackey. Originally designed as a fashionable light solution for cyclists, it has expanded into wearable light solutions for a range of consumer applications.
Wearable electronics have been reasonably successful when targeting a sporting audience, but Mackey felt that the fashionable commuter cyclist’s needs weren’t being addressed. Critical to Mackey’s design philosophy, wearable products should look good even when they’re off. We should always feel comfortable wearing them, and they should always be beautiful objects, whether they’re on or off.
I have worked as the technical lead for the company, co-ordinating design of the electronics and developing the software for the microcontroller.
