David NG McCallum is an artist and educator whose work explores the unintended opportunities and consequences. Working with electronics, craft, and performance, McCallum finds the expressivity hiding in systems. He is Senior Lecturer in Commercial Practices (Materials and Systems) and Fashion Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy and the Master Design at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam.

He has been a postdoctoral fellow in the Future Everyday group at the Department of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology, a guest researcher at the Smart Textiles Design Lab at the Swedish School of Textiles, and the Editor of Musicworks magazine.

McCallum holds a PhD in Digital Representation from the Valand Academy at The University of Gothenburg, an MSc in Art and Technology from Chalmers University of Technology, and a BAH in Music Composition from Queen’s University at Kingston. He currently lives in Eindhoven, Netherlands with his family.
